I have a career of more than 30 years working in the world of education, extensively in the
area of admissions and appeals. My experience extends to having been involved in many
thousands of appeals in the following capacities:
• On the leadership team of two different schools, giving me an in depth
understanding of how schools operate from the inside.
• As an officer, working within the Local Authority, presenting the case for
hundreds of different schools, at both primary and secondary level, giving
me an unparalleled knowledge of how school cases are put together and
the law on admissions .
• Advising academies with particular focus on their admissions policy and
process, equipping me to quickly spot errors and non compliance with
the law.
• As a Chair of Admissions Appeals panels, deciding between the cases of
parents and schools in a fair and unbiased manner, giving me an excellent
understanding of exactly what panels are looking for.
• As a parent, putting forward the case for my own family (and winning).
• Advising parents of the best way to present their own case.
I believe, therefore, that with my unique and extensive experience, I am better placed than

Having worked for so long in this area, I have seen how difficult parents find the
appeal process and how hard it is for them to access reliable advice from those with
